Almost everything on a Norden 901 can be revised once a trip has begun. Tyre pressures drop for a gravel section and come back up for the motorway home, and the rider mode changes with a thumb. The air filter is the exception: whatever is in the airbox at the start breathes for the whole journey, and there is no roadside version of that decision. That is the honest frame for the Sprint Filter PM155T12 — an element chosen against the hardest part of a route rather than against its average.
Key Features
- Polyester nonwoven used dry: filtration to 7 µm at a rated 560 l/m²/sec
- The P08 weave for the same housing stops at 80 µm and passes 5,050 — nine times the flow
- No oil at any point in its life, so nothing tacky sits upstream of the throttle bodies
- Replaces the paper panel in the untouched standard airbox; nothing cut, no remap
- Cleaned and put back for the life of the bike, with two years of warranty from purchase
- Around twice the filtering surface of other performance elements, in the standard frame
The one specification you cannot change at a fuel stop
Long routes are rarely uniform. Two days of motorway, an afternoon of dry piste, a week of dirt roads in the dry season, then tarmac again — and a single element travels all of it. This is why the average of a journey is the wrong thing to specify against. If the worst days of a route put the Norden in raised dust from morning to evening, the argument for a 7-micron medium is made on those days, and the sealed sections pay the bill for them. If a route never has such days, they are paying for nothing at all.
What the bill looks like
It is the steepest trade Sprint Filter offers and it deserves saying without decoration: 560 litres per square metre per second against 5,050 for the standard P08, about one ninth, bought with a retention threshold more than ten times finer. That cost falls on every kilometre, not only the dusty ones. What does not change is the honest limit of any drop-in element — none of them makes a standard Norden 901 stronger, and this one least of all. The dependable gain is a starting intake resistance below a disposable panel's, one that a compressor restores at any service instead of one that creeps upward until the next part is bought.
Care and cleaning
Everything about servicing this element is dry. Hold an air line against the clean face and drive the jet outwards, so the load leaves the mat by the side it entered. When the material holds more than air will move, lukewarm water and a little mild detergent take the rest. Drying is open air and patience alone — no heat gun, no flame — and it goes back only once dry right through. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Husqvarna Norden 901 from 2022 to 2026, fitted in the standard airbox. Six machines are catalogued against this T12 — the Norden alongside five KTM Adventures — while the same housing takes the P08 across thirteen KTM and Husqvarna models. The Fitment tab lists all six with their model years.
