The end cap on this version is not a trim ring. It is machined from 6000-series aluminium on a five-axis mill, drilled through to take weight out of it, and anodised black — and the internal and external radii are cut to different values so that the light breaks across it rather than sitting flat.

Why Anodising and Not Paint

Anodising converts the surface of the aluminium rather than covering it. The colour sits in the metal, it does not chip off an edge, and it survives the heat that reaches an end cap without going chalky.

The trade is that anodised aluminium is heavier than carbon. This pair comes in at 2,2 kg against the 2,1 of the carbon-capped GDU0839TOMC. A hundred grams, and 73 euro, is what the machined cap costs.

Black on a Monster

Ducati sells the 937 in colours that do not always want a bright accent at the tail. Against a Dark Stealth or a black-framed bike the anodised cap closes the design rather than interrupting it, and the titanium case behind it stays visible as the one warm-grey element.

The red-capped version of the same silencer is GDU0839TOMR, at the same price, for the bikes that want the opposite.

What Is in the Box

A pair of Dyno silencers and the link pipe that feeds them — AISI 304 stainless, one into two, in the standard mounting position. Nothing else on the motorcycle changes, and the catalytic converter stays where it is.

Two Silencers, One Article

The Monster 937 carries a silencer on each side, and Spark sells the pair as a single number. What arrives is both cases, both caps, and the stainless link pipe that splits the flow to them — nothing is ordered separately and nothing is left over.

Sparks own price list calls this a DOPPIO slip-on, which is simply Italian for double. It is worth knowing when comparing prices against single-silencer articles for other machines: 1.261 euro buys two silencers, not one.

Standard Mounting Position

The pipe puts the silencers where the original ones sat. Nothing is relocated, no bracket has to be fabricated, and the number plate holder, the rear subframe and the passenger pegs all stay as they are.

Care

Spark asks that the silencers see water and nothing else. Degreasers and the stronger car-wash products attack the anodised layer and dull the titanium, and the damage is not something a polish takes back out.
