DescriptionThe whole story▼
Forged from premium magnesium alloy by OZ's own SBK Racing division, the Cattiva wheel set represents the absolute pinnacle of OZ's wheel engineering. As the lightest wheel OZ produces, the Cattiva set delivers a dramatic reduction in unsprung and rotating mass — transforming the way your Kawasaki ZX-10 R responds to every input on track.
Key Features
- Forged magnesium construction — the lightest wheel in the entire OZ range, built exclusively for track use.
- Six-spoke Cattiva design developed by OZ's SBK Racing department for maximum rigidity and minimum mass.
- Substantial reduction in rotating mass improves agility, sharpens steering response and increases stability at high speeds.
- Direct replacement for the stock Kawasaki ZX-10 R wheels — no modification required.
- Complete set includes front wheel, rear wheel, premium bearings, aluminium angle valves and spacers (fitted where required).
- Sprocket carrier included — note that the original rear sprocket is not compatible and must be replaced.
- Made in Italy to the exacting standards of OZ's race-proven manufacturing process.
Build Quality and Materials
The Cattiva's defining characteristic is its material: forged magnesium. Where cast aluminium wheels rely on bulk for strength, forged magnesium achieves exceptional structural integrity at a fraction of the weight. OZ's SBK Racing team developed the Cattiva specifically for Superbike competition, which means every gram has been scrutinised and every spoke profile is shaped by genuine motorsport data rather than marketing ambition. The result is a wheel that is not merely light but correctly stiff — delivering consistent feedback through the tyre and into the rider's hands.
The six-spoke architecture balances torsional and radial loads precisely, resisting the enormous braking and cornering forces generated at track pace on the ZX-10 R without flex or vibration. Finish quality is consistent with the premium OZ Racing name: surfaces are cleanly machined and the finish — available in gloss black, matte black or gold — is applied to a standard that holds up in the demanding environment of a race paddock.
Performance on Track
Reducing rotating mass is one of the highest-value modifications available to any track-day rider or racer. Less rotating inertia means the engine's torque accelerates the wheel more quickly, braking forces decelerate it more readily, and the front end follows changes in direction with noticeably less effort. On the ZX-10 R, which already rewards precise, committed riding, fitting the Cattiva set sharpens every transition — turn-in, mid-corner balance and drive — in a way that conventional aftermarket wheels in aluminium simply cannot match.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel set is designed and engineered specifically for the Kawasaki ZX-10 R covering model years 2021 through 2026. The wheels are direct replacements for the original equipment items and require no frame or suspension modification. A sprocket carrier is included in the set; however, the original Kawasaki rear sprocket is not compatible and must be substituted with an appropriate aftermarket unit. These wheels are optimised exclusively for track use.
