DescriptionThe whole story▼
Few motorcycles lean as openly on the past as the W800, a vertical twin built with styling that echoes Kawasaki's machines from decades earlier, sold across 2011 to 2016 and again from 2019 in Cafe and Street form. Its filler takes the larger M30x1.5 thread, and Accossato's FP005 fits it, CNC-machined aluminium anodised across eight colours.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Kawasaki W800, 2011 to 2016 and 2019 to 2020
- Covers the original W800 and the later Cafe and Street versions
- Thread M30x1.5, a larger size than most Accossato fillers
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- TS013 rear brake reservoir cap also listed for this bike
- No German ABE on file; for competition use
- Suits a retro-styled vertical twin built across two separate eras
Construction and Material Quality
Kawasaki gave the W800's vertical twin a filler bored to M30x1.5 rather than the smaller size found on most of its naked range, and Accossato machines the FP005 to that same larger specification from aluminium, colouring it afterwards through anodising. On a bike built to recall an earlier era of motorcycling, titanium and silver sit closest to the spirit of the original, while orange, red and gold add a modern touch a purist might reserve for a second, less sentimental bike instead, one with fewer ties to any particular decade.
A Retro Design, a Modern Maintenance Routine
Everything about the W800's styling points backward, chrome, a tank badge straight from an earlier decade, exposed engine fins, but the way oil should be checked has not changed in all that time: engine cold, bike level, the window read before the filler comes off, the area wiped clean first. The FP005 then threads back in by hand, and a look underneath after the next ride confirms the seal has settled properly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list covers the FP005 for the Kawasaki W800 across 2011 to 2016, and separately for the W800 Cafe and Street from 2019. This W800 also takes the TS013 rear brake reservoir cap. Because the M30x1.5 thread decides fit rather than the model itself, the FP005 also suits other large Kawasaki machines, including the GTR 1400 and the Vulcan 900 Custom, bikes with a very different character to a retro-styled twin.
Road Approval
Accossato has not provided an ABE or comparable document for the FP005, so it is listed for track and competition use.
