DescriptionThe whole story▼

The V100 Mandello rewards a rider who uses both brakes on a fast road. A light press on the rear before turn-in settles the chassis and tightens the line, and that works most convincingly with a pad that answers crisply. Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in the EV1 street/track compound provides that crisper answer and copes with hard use on the road and at club track days. The catalogue lists it for the V100 1042 Mandello from 2022 to 2023.

Key Features

  • EV1 street/track rear pads for the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello
  • V100 1042 Mandello, 2022 to 2023
  • Accossato quotes excellent grip for street and amateur circuit riding
  • Crisp pedal response on corner entry
  • Tolerates repeated hard use
  • Two pads per box
  • No German approval documents; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato aims EV1 at riders who divide their time between fast road riding and amateur track days, and promises excellent grip in both. On the rear of the Mandello, that translates into a pedal that responds directly from cold and does not fade when the rear disc is worked hard on a mountain road. The company's broader claims of slow wear and good fade resistance also apply.

Using Both Brakes

Riders who learned on sport bikes sometimes forget the rear brake, but on a shaft-driven bike like the Mandello it is a useful tool for settling the chassis and trimming speed mid-corner. EV1 makes it more precise. OR and ST are the calmer everyday choices for AGPA29, and STMX is for gravel.

Fresh rear pads need a short routine: pump the pedal until it stays high, then bed the linings in with a dozen or so rear-only stops, each a little firmer than the one before, on a quiet stretch of road. Only then start using the rear actively on corner entry. A rider who works the rear brake this way will go through linings noticeably faster than someone who only uses it for parking, so glance through the caliper whenever the Mandello is on its stand and plan a change well before the backing plate shows.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA29 for the rear of the V100 1042 Mandello from 2022 to 2023. One box supplies the single rear caliper. The matching front pad is AGPA177. Before fitting, check the rear disc for a worn lip and clean the caliper pistons.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE or approval document for this pad, so it is sold for track and competition use.
