Sprint Filter puts the standard 1200 and the S under one heading, and the catalogue is not being lazy about it. Trim levels are settled at the suspension and the instrument panel; the housing behind them is the same housing, and it takes the same element whichever badge is on the tank. That removes the question most part searches begin with. PM210S is the answer for both — one dry layer of woven polyester, sitting where the paper panel sat, washed at a service instead of thrown away.
Key Features
- A single dry layer of woven polyester, supplied unoiled and refitted unoiled
- Rated at 80 µm with a flow of 5,050 l/m²/sec through clean cloth
- Roughly twice the filtering surface of other performance elements, folded into the series frame
- Retention measured at 93.13 % of 100-micron particles, where four-layer oiled cotton reached 76.42 %
- Drops into the standard airbox with nothing cut, no adapter and no remapping
- Cleaned with compressed air and reused, with two years of warranty from purchase
An airbox reads no badges
Three machines sit on this fitment list and one part number serves all of them, which tells you the intake path never changed between them. For a buyer that is worth more than it sounds. A used example whose exact specification is not obvious from the advert still takes the correct element. And the part stays in current production for as long as any of the three is catalogued, so nothing here depends on finding old stock. The 2019 model year on this listing is the earliest anywhere in the group; everything built since takes the identical panel.
What changes, and what does not
Not the power figure. A panel dropped into an untouched box does not make a standard 1200 noticeably stronger, and any listing that suggests otherwise has quietly changed the subject. What it changes is the behaviour of one consumable. Paper is at its most open on the day it is fitted and closes steadily from there, with no way of reading how far along it has got before it is binned. Woven polyester comes out at a service, is blown clear, and goes back doing what it did when new — which makes the intake restriction something you reset rather than something you spend.
Care and cleaning
Routine servicing of the PM210S is done with air. Hold the line against the clean face and blow outwards, so that what the weave stopped leaves by the side it arrived from. Where a season has left a film that air alone will not shift, lukewarm water and a little mild detergent will, rinsed until the water runs clear. Then leave it in moving air until it is properly dry — no heat gun, no radiator, no flame, because heat is the one thing that ends a polyester element early. It goes back dry and untreated. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Catalogued for the Indian FTR 1200 and FTR 1200 S from 2019 to 2026, one element per machine, in the unmodified series airbox. Two further listings share the same code, the Rally and the Carbon, both from 2020 onwards. All three are set out under the Fitment tab.
