Fittings are specific to the hose and the housing they connect. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it. The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper.

Why the Original

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 00403-12 in this case. Check dimension a 49 mm, dimension b 170 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Öhlins pressure-tests its hoses because a reservoir line carries the full gas charge. Hose-mounted reservoirs allow installation where a piggyback would foul the chassis.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00403-12

Category: Reservoirs

Dimension A: 49 mm

Dimension B: 170 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00403-12_81556a43-978a-45e4-a44f-66b3d7a2c3c4.png?v=1788869295
