DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's AGPA97ZXC is a ceramic racing pad for the front of the Yamaha MT-09, listed for the triple from 2014 to 2026. It uses the ZXC ceramic racing compound and is meant for teams and privateers who fine-tune their brakes over a race weekend and want a choice of friction materials. On a track-prepared MT-09, the front pads are part of the setup, and ZXC gives riders another option to test against the other compounds.

Construction and Material Quality
ZXC is Accossato's ceramic material, which the company describes as ideal for racing. It uses the same AGPA97 backing plate as the rest of the family, so fitting to the MT-09 is identical. It gives teams a different friction character to work with alongside the other racing compound in the range. Accossato's general design goals of limited heat, reduced fade and strong braking apply.
Choosing Pads Between Sessions
Testing brake pads is part of preparing a racing MT-09 for a weekend. Riders sometimes start practice on one compound, switch to another and compare the feel at the end of the straights and into slow corners. ZXC offers a ceramic option for that comparison. Keep careful notes: which set went into which caliper, how many laps each has done, and how the lever felt. In the pits, keep pads in labelled bags, check the discs for heat marks, and make sure caliper bolts are torqued correctly after every change. A clean, organised pit area makes quick changes safer when time is short.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato fits the AGPA97 to the front of the Yamaha MT-09 from 2014 to 2026, and the AGPP88 to its rear. Two front calipers mean two boxes for a full front change, renewed together. The MT-09 has been revised over the years, so compare new and old pads before fitting. Clean the pistons, inspect the discs and use fresh fluid. Accossato's DK077 and DKS073 discs are also listed for this model. Bed the ceramic pads in during the first session.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE, test certificate or approval mark for this ceramic pad. The AGPA97ZXC is sold for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
One box of two Accossato AGPA97 pads in ZXC ceramic racing compound, the set for one front caliper of the MT-09.
