DescriptionThe whole story▼

When a Yamaha MT-07 carries a passenger and a set of panniers, the rear brake suddenly matters more. Weight shifts backwards, the rear tyre has more grip to offer, and a firm, reliable pedal becomes part of controlling the bike downhill or in the wet. Accossato's AGPP88ST is the sintered rear pad for the MT-07 from 2014 to 2026, suited to touring two-up, riding through winter and any situation where the back brake has to work consistently whatever the conditions.

Key Features

  • Rear pads for the Yamaha MT-07 across 2014 to 2026
  • Article AGPP88ST: AGPP88 shape in the Sintered (ST) compound
  • Accossato claims steady grip at low and high temperatures
  • Performs well on a wet disc, according to the manufacturer
  • Suited to two-up touring, luggage and all-weather riding
  • Two pads in each box, the complete set for the rear caliper
  • The rear shape also exists as OR; the front pad is AGPA97
  • Sold for circuit and competition use; no German ABE available

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato supplies the AGPP88 rear shape in two compounds, and this one is sintered. The manufacturer's description centres on consistency: a high grip level that holds from cold to hot and remains reliable when the disc is wet. For a rear brake that might sit idle for a long motorway stretch and then be needed on a wet descent, that consistency is the point. Accossato adds its usual design goals of slow wear and resistance to fade.

Two Up in Changeable Weather

On a loaded MT-07 the rider's weight, the passenger and the luggage all press on the rear wheel, and using the back brake more deliberately becomes part of keeping the bike calm. Downhill, a gentle rear application settles the chassis before the front takes over. In rain, spreading the braking across both wheels reduces the risk of overloading the front tyre. A sintered rear pad helps here because its response does not change much with temperature or water, so the pedal feels the same at the start of a wet day as at the end. Keep an eye on the rear disc in winter, as grit and salt accelerate wear, and clean the caliper when the bike is washed so the piston keeps moving freely.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato fits the AGPP88 to the rear of the Yamaha MT-07 for 2014 to 2026, with the AGPA97 catalogued for the front. A single box covers the one rear caliper. Before fitting, clean the piston and push it back carefully, check the disc surface and thickness, and look at the fluid in the rear reservoir. The DK077 and DKS073 discs are also listed for this MT-07. Pump the pedal until it is firm, then bed the new pads in with several moderate stops.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE or approval documents for the AGPP88ST, so this pad is offered for use on the track and in competition.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two Accossato AGPP88 pads in the Sintered (ST) compound, fitting the single rear caliper of the MT-07.
