DescriptionThe whole story▼
An R1M ridden to a distant track day, through rain on the motorway and over a mountain pass on the way home, needs a front pad that copes with every part of the trip. Accossato front pad AGPA97 in the Sintered (ST) compound is designed for that kind of mixed, weather-proof riding. Accossato lists it for the Yamaha R1M from 2015 to 2025. ST suits owners who ride their R1M in all conditions rather than only on dry summer afternoons.
Key Features
- Front pad AGPA97 in the Sintered (ST) compound
- For the Yamaha R1M, 2015-2025, per Accossato
- Accossato: high, constant grip at high and low temperatures
- Grips well on wet discs
- Stable bite through long rides in changing weather
- Pair of pads for one caliper
- Alternatives: OR, EV1, EV2, ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
According to Accossato, the Sintered mix holds a high and stable level of grip in both hot and cold conditions and performs well in the wet. For a rider whose R1M may be cold in the morning and hot after a long descent, that is the practical advantage. Accossato also claims long life, less fade through controlled temperature and high stopping power for its pads generally.
One Pad for the Whole Journey
Riding an R1M across country to an event, you meet motorway spray, cold mornings and maybe a pass with hairpins. ST is designed to keep behaving the same through all of it, so the brake lever does not surprise you when conditions change. For a rider who dislikes swapping pads for different uses, it is a sensible middle path. EV1 offers a sharper response for dry, fast road riding.
Wet-Weather Care
After riding in rain, rinse road grime off the calipers, let the brakes dry and check that the pads slide freely in their guides.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA97 for the YZF 1000 R1 M from 2015 to 2025. As the R1M has two front calipers, a complete front replacement needs two boxes. At the rear Accossato lists AGPP39. Check disc thickness and fluid when changing the pads, and bed the new set in with a series of progressively firmer stops.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or test documentation for AGPA97ST; it is offered for circuit and competition riding.
