DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato PRS 15x17-18-19 brings the adjustable pivot system to the naked-and-motard-suited 15 mm piston, letting the rider move between 17, 18 or 19 mm without changing parts. Accossato rates this spread as suitable for all uses, since the setting can be moved to match the situation rather than being fixed for good at the point of purchase. The folding lever carries a relieving eyelet, the body is natural anodised, and the lever is offered in several colours with a matching adjusting knob.
Key Features
- 15 mm piston diameter, suggested for naked and motard bikes
- Adjustable lever pivot distance: 17, 18 or 19 mm to suit the situation of use
- Folding lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
Like the 14 mm PRS unit, this one is forged and CNC machined from aluminium in Italy, kept to a natural anodised finish no matter which of the three pivot positions is active. The hardware is stainless steel for the screws, zinced steel for the bleed valve, and Formula 1 compound for the seals, materials picked for how they hold up under heat and brake fluid over time. A mounting clamp with an offset riser keeps body flex in check under hard braking, and the shortened passive stroke built into the bore design stays more than 50 percent below that of a conventional radial unit, whichever pivot setting is in use. The hose fitting is M10x1, as on the rest of the range.
Three Pivot Positions on the 15 mm Piston
What separates this master cylinder from the fixed-pivot 15x18, 15x19 and 15x20 units is simply choice: the same lever moves between 17, 18 and 19 mm instead of being locked to one figure. Setting the pivot toward the short end of that range lightens the pull for commuting or relaxed road riding; moving it toward the long end sharpens the response, trading a little extra hand effort for a shorter, more direct stroke much like the fixed 20 mm unit gives. Because the piston stays at 15 mm throughout, naked and motard riders get that flexibility without the brake feel itself changing in any other way, which is the whole case for paying extra for a PRS unit over a fixed-pivot one.
Fitment and Compatibility
This PRS master cylinder carries no published vehicle list and is sold as a universal 15 mm unit for 22 mm handlebar clamps. Riders should confirm their own bar diameter, check that their brake system is designed around a 15 mm piston, and verify the calliper and disc combination already fitted before ordering.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
