DescriptionThe whole story▼

On a long off-road stage, a World Raid rider uses the rear brake constantly: to control speed on loose descents, to slide the bike round tight bends and to stay upright where a hard front stop would wash out. Accossato rear pad AGPP91 in its Off-road sintered (STMX) compound is intended for that. Accossato lists AGPP91 for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid with the years 2022 to 2026.

Key Features

  • AGPP91 rear pad in STMX compound
  • For the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid, 2022-2026, per Accossato
  • Accossato's compound for off-road riders
  • For loose descents, sand and gravel
  • Designed for dirty, gritty conditions
  • Two pads, full rear set
  • Also offered as OR and ST

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes STMX as its compound for off-road riders. It is meant for the gritty, wet, dusty conditions of long off-road stages. Accossato's general claims for its pads, slow wear, less fade and strong braking, are passed on as the maker's statements.

Rear Brake on Long Stages

Off-road riders use the rear brake far more than road riders. On a World Raid crossing a sandy piste or a stony descent, a controlled rear slide can guide the bike through a bend and keep speed in check without risking the front. The pad has to keep working through sand, mud and water crossings. A compound designed for those conditions is intended to do just that. After fording a river, drag the pedal briefly to dry the disc. For tarmac, ST or OR suit better. A World Raid carrying a full load of fuel is heavy at the start of a stage and noticeably lighter at the end, so the rear brake's behaviour on the same descent can change through the day; a compound meant for dirt keeps the pedal consistent enough to learn and trust.

Evening Checks

After a dusty or muddy stage, rinse the rear caliper if water is available and check the pad thickness. Grit wears pads quickly on long off-road days.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP91 for the XTZ 700 Ténéré World Raid, giving the years 2022 to 2026. One box covers the single rear caliper. At the front, Accossato lists AGPA29, also made in STMX.

Road Approval

There is no ABE on file for AGPP91STMX and no test papers, so the pads are offered for off-road sport and competition.

Scope of Delivery

Two STMX rear pads, AGPP91, a complete set for the World Raid.
