DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Triumph Speed 400 is a road bike, but roads do not always have tarmac. Farm lanes, gravel car parks, forest roads leading to a campsite and dusty tracks to a viewpoint all find their way into real-world riding. For owners who regularly ride on such surfaces, Accossato lists the AGPP91 rear pad for the 2024 Speed 400 in the Off-road sintered (STMX) compound, made to keep the rear brake working when dust, mud and grit get into the caliper.

Key Features

  • STMX compound for dirt and gravel, article AGPP91STMX
  • Rear of the Triumph Speed 400, model year 2024
  • For gravel roads, dirt lanes and dusty tracks
  • Designed to cope with mud, sand and grit
  • Two pads, one set for the rear caliper
  • Also listed as OR and ST

Construction and Material Quality

STMX is Accossato's material for dirt use in the AGPP91 shape. It is intended for conditions where mud, sand or dust contaminate the braking surface. As with Accossato's other pads, the aims are slow wear, limited heat and stable stopping power. On a loose surface, the rear brake is often more useful than the front, and a compound that stays consistent in dirt is a real help.

On Loose Ground

On gravel, the front tyre can lose grip easily under braking, so experienced riders slow down mainly with the rear and use the front gently. On the Speed 400, that means the rear pad works harder than usual, often in dust or mud. Keep your speed modest, brake in a straight line where you can, and let the rear wheel slow the bike progressively. After riding on dirt, wash the caliper and disc with water, check for trapped stones, and inspect the pads for uneven wear.

After a Dusty Ride

Dust acts like a fine abrasive. A quick rinse after the ride will help both pads and disc last longer.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPP91 for the rear of the Triumph Speed 400, model year 2024. One box covers the single rear caliper. For the front, the AGPA184 is catalogued for the same year. For road-only use, the AGPP91 is also available as OR and ST.

Road Approval

This pad has no ABE and we have no road test documentation. It is sold for off-road competition and track use.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPP91 rear pads in STMX compound, one set for the rear caliper.
