DescriptionThe whole story▼

The CY029 takes Accossato's 19 mm dual-disc piston and pairs it with a 20 mm pivot rather than the more common 18 mm, which shortens the lever stroke needed to reach full braking force at the cost of requiring more hand strength; Accossato does not recommend this geometry for everyday street use. This listing is the natural anodised body, fitted with a rigid, fixed lever rather than a folding one.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter for dual-disc front brake systems
  • 20 mm lever pivot, giving a shorter, quicker stroke; not recommended for street use
  • Rigid, fixed lever in black
  • Natural anodised aluminium body, left in its machined finish
  • CNC-machined, fully made in Italy
  • Offset riser that limits body flex under hard braking
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals in Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato machines this body from aluminium and leaves it natural anodised, fitting a rigid lever on top rather than a folding one. Stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals are specified as on the rest of the range. An offset riser resists the body flexing under a hard stop, and the bore is shaped to shorten the lever's passive travel, the part of the pull before the pads bite, by more than half next to an ordinary radial unit.

A Sharper Pivot for Track Use

Moving the pivot out to 20 mm, instead of the 18 mm used on most of the range, reduces the lever stroke needed for full braking force but increases the hand strength required for the same result, which is why Accossato reserves this geometry for track and competition riding rather than the road. On this natural-finish CY029, both the long and short lever lengths are fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST). The relieving eyelet on both lever lengths means the long and short options differ only in reach, not in how the lever is built.

Fitment and Compatibility

65 motorcycles are confirmed for the CY029, the same sportbike-heavy list as Accossato's other 19 mm dual-disc cylinders, including the Aprilia RSV4 RR, BMW S1000RR, Ducati Panigale V4, Kawasaki ZX-10RR and Suzuki GSX-R1000R; full model years are in the Fitment tab. The same 19x20 fixed-lever cylinder is also sold separately with a nickel-plated body. Riders switching from the 18 mm fixed-pivot CY023 to this 20 mm unit should expect to apply noticeably more hand force for the same stopping power.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato 19x20 radial brake master cylinder with the rigid fixed lever in black, available long or short, both fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST), in the natural anodised body finish. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The brake light switch (ID001 or ID002) and the fluid reservoir are not included.
