DescriptionThe whole story▼
Bagger racing, with fairings and panniers on full-size V-twins, has become one of the more unusual spectacles in motorcycle sport. For a Chieftain prepared along those lines, Accossato lists its AGPA38 front pad from 2014 to 2023 in EV2 racing, which it calls a top racing compound. It is a purpose-built pad for timed sessions and races, not for touring; on a road-going Chieftain the milder versions of the same pad are the right choice.
Key Features
- Accossato AGPA38 front pad in EV2 racing
- For the Indian Chieftain, 2014 to 2023
- One of Accossato's top racing compounds
- For bagger racing and timed track sessions
- Designed for repeated heavy deceleration
- Box holds two pads for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato presents EV2 as a leading racing mixture without further explanation. On a racing bagger, the front pads have to absorb huge amounts of energy on every corner entry, and they must do it for an entire race. EV2 is designed to hold strong bite at high temperature. The company, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, builds all its pads around slow wear and fade control through limited heat build-up.
Panniers on the Grid
A racing Chieftain carries more mass into each corner than almost anything else on a circuit, so the front brake decides much of the lap time. Riders need a pad that bites the same way at every hairpin, lap after lap, even as the discs glow. EV2 is designed for that. Between races, check the pads and discs carefully, clean the calipers of dust, and keep fresh pads ready, because a heavy bike consumes them quickly. Bed a new set in during warm-up.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue ties AGPA38 to the front of the Chieftain from 2014 to 2023, listing the Chieftain 1800 over the whole period and the Classic, Dark Horse and Limited from 2015. The rear reference for these bikes is AGPA81. The box contains a set for one caliper, so confirm the number of front calipers on your Chieftain. Keep the discs free of grease.
Road Approval
We have no approval papers or German ABE for this racing pad; it is offered exclusively for circuit and competition use.
