An airbox is not simply a box. Its volume, the length and diameter of its inlet and the resistance of the element inside it are all part of how the engine breathes, and the fuelling map was calibrated with that whole assembly in place. This is the real reason a replacement air filter needs no remap, and it deserves stating properly rather than as a slogan: the Sprint Filter P08 keeps the standard element's outer geometry, so the volume, the seal and the intake path stay exactly as they were. Nothing the calibration depends on has moved, so nothing about the calibration has been invalidated. What changes is inside the frame of the element, where a single dry woven polyester layer takes the place of pleated paper.
Key Features
- Keeps the standard element's outer geometry, so airbox volume and intake path are unchanged
- P08 medium: 80 microns of filtration with an airflow figure of 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Single layer of dry polyester, never oiled, washable and reusable
- Polyester threads from ø 22 microns, woven to a calibrated aperture
- No modification, no remap, no change to how the machine was homologated
- Two-year warranty from the date of purchase
A medium that holds its shape
Paper works partly by closing up. It is designed to be replaced before that becomes a problem, and its resistance climbs steadily from the day it is fitted. A woven polyester layer behaves differently. The threads are dimensionally stable, so the aperture between them stays what it was made to be, and the dust that collects sits on the surface where compressed air can lift it off rather than working its way deeper into the structure. That is what makes a service possible at all, and it is why Sprint Filter designs the P08 to last the life of the motorcycle rather than a set number of kilometres.
The claim worth making
An element that drops into a standard airbox does not add power to a standard engine, and nothing in the figures suggests otherwise. What a 150 cm³ single produces is decided by its cams, its compression and its calibration, and the standard filter is not what holds any of them back. The case for the P08 is a narrower one, and it holds up: the intake restriction starts lower and, rather more importantly, it stays close to where it started across the service interval instead of creeping upward unnoticed, because the element is cleaned back rather than gradually surrendered.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air from the clean side outwards is the routine service for PM183S. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear and let it dry completely in open air, never with heat and never near a flame. It is refitted dry; the P08 has no oiling stage. The Sprint Filter maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Honda Winner 150 from 2016 to 2026. The same PM183S element also covers the FS150, RS150R, Sonic 150R and Supra GTR 150, five machines from one airbox design, the Sonic 150R covered from 2015. The full list is in the Fitment tab.
