Fork tubes are the structural part of the front end and carry the braking load into the yokes. Öhlins publishes tube diameters by fork model, and they are not interchangeable across the range. Cartridge tubes sit inside the fork leg and do the actual damping.

Why the Original

A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.

Getting the Number Right

Order under 21634-12. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins states dimension a 43 mm, dimension b 39.5 mm, dimension c 551 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Axle clamps and lower legs are machined to hold the axle without distorting the fork. Axle clamps are machined so the axle clamps without pinching the fork out of alignment.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21634-12

Category: Fork Parts

Dimension A: 43 mm

Dimension B: 39.5 mm

Dimension C: 551 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21634-12_8dbb8337-f2a6-4f99-883d-1db5c29e7bb2.png?v=1788879791
