The mount is the part that makes a universal tank work on an R3. The OBT008 is the front bracket: 60.6 mm by 90.3 mm, black anodised, 10 g. No finish to choose: LighTech lists the OBT008 in black alone. It changes the part of the R3 the rider looks at most.

Choosing Front or Rear
LighTech splits reservoir and bracket because the bracket is what varies by machine. The OBT008 sets the reservoir at 60.6 mm height with 90.3 mm of projection. It fits the LighTech reservoirs OBT001, OBT006 and OBT007 and is sold without any of them.
Care and Checks
Check the bracket fasteners on the R3 at the same interval as the bar clamps. The OBT008 needs no maintenance of its own beyond that.

LighTech lists the OBT008 for the Yamaha R3. LighTech lists it as adaptable rather than model-specific, so check the position on the R3 first.
What You Also Need
LighTech sells this mount on its own. The tank — OBT001, OBT006 or OBT007 — is a separate article. Ask us and we will pair it with the right reservoir for your R3.
Fitting
The OBT008 replaces an existing part on the R3 rather than adding one. Check steering lock on the R3 once the tank is in place. Keep the original parts — the change is fully reversible on the R3.

Road Use and Approval
Replacing a reservoir touches the brake system of the R3, not just its appearance. No approval paperwork comes with the OBT008 and we do not present it as approved. For a road-registered R3 in Germany, have the installation assessed before you rely on it — and have the system bled and checked by a workshop afterwards.
