DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Tracer 9 is bought to cover ground, and covering ground means the hand that works the front brake does it for hours at a time, in gloves that change with the weather. Neither of those is something a fixed-reach lever handles well.

Key Features

  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
  • Milled Gilles face for a secure gloved grip
  • Bolts to the original master cylinder without adapters
  • Reach adjustable through 35 positions, set by hand
  • Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Construction

Solid aluminium, machined and anodised black, with the pivot bore phosphated as its own step. On a bike that goes out in weather the standard lever's owner would avoid, that treated seat is the difference between a blade that still feels tight in spring and one that does not.

Glove Thickness Is a Moving Target

Summer gloves and winter gloves differ by several millimetres at the fingertip, and on a long-distance bike you will use both within a month. Thirty-five reach positions cover that swing without tools, adjusted at a fuel stop in the time it takes to pull the pump out.

Comfort Over Distance

The argument for an adjustable lever on a sport-tourer is not lap times, it is the fourth hour. A blade a few millimetres too far out makes the hand stretch at every roundabout, and that is what turns into an ache long before the fuel light comes on.

Road Approval

Approved for German roads under ABE No. KBA 91203. No documentation entry or inspection is required; print the certificate from this page and keep it with the vehicle papers.
