DescriptionThe whole story▼

Some club racers build their machines from unusual starting points, and a Triumph 1050 triple is a strong one. For riders who race or regularly lap a circuit on a Tiger 1050 (2007 to 2013) or a Tiger Sport 1050 (2015 to 2019), Accossato makes front pad AGPA38 in its ZXC ceramic racing compound. It is a competition item, meant for trying a ceramic mix while working on the bike's setup through practice, qualifying and race.

Key Features

  • AGPA38 front pad in ZXC ceramic racing compound
  • For the Triumph Tiger 1050 (2007-2013) and Tiger Sport 1050 (2015-2019)
  • Accossato: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • For race meetings and pit-lane setup work
  • Two pads in the box for one front caliper
  • Also made as ST, EV1 and EV2

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's statement on ZXC is that it is a ceramic compound ideal for racing. We pass that on without speculation about the recipe. Like the rest of the Accossato range, the mix also comes with the company's general claims of slow wear, a stable response as heat builds and strong stopping power.

From Practice to Race

A race meeting is a sequence of small decisions, and the brakes are part of it. In practice, a rider may compare how different compounds feel as they warm up; by qualifying, the choice should be made; in the race, the pads have to deliver the same bite from the first lap to the last. ZXC adds a ceramic option to that toolbox. Pit-lane routine matters as much as the pad itself: measure pad thickness after every outing, look at the discs for heat marks, bleed the system and clean the calipers. For road riding, touring or track days, the ST and EV1 versions of AGPA38 are more appropriate.

Fitment and Compatibility

Whether the race bike started life as a 2007 to 2013 Tiger 1050 or a 2015 to 2019 Tiger Sport 1050, this plate is the one Accossato names for its front calipers; for 2014 there is no entry. Two calipers, two boxes. Accossato's rear reference for the Sport is AGPA76. A ceramic pad should be brought up to temperature gradually on its first outing, and the lever should be checked for firmness at the pit exit every time.

Road Approval

There is no German ABE or test mark for this pad in our records. It is sold for racing and competition use only.

Scope of Delivery
