DescriptionThe whole story▼

An R3 ridden in all seasons needs a rear brake that behaves the same on a frosty morning as on a hot afternoon. Accossato rear pad AGPP254 in the Sintered (ST) compound is designed for that. Accossato lists AGPP254 for the Yamaha R3 from 2015 to 2026. ST suits riders who commute through the winter, tour with luggage and want a consistent pedal feel in wet conditions.

Key Features

  • AGPP254 rear pad in Sintered (ST) compound
  • For the Yamaha R3, 2015-2026
  • Accossato: high, constant grip hot or cold, good grip in the wet
  • Consistent pedal feel through the seasons
  • Useful with luggage on longer trips
  • Two pads, a full rear set
  • Also made in the OR compound

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered compound keeps a high and constant grip level at high and low temperatures, and grips well in the wet. On the rear of an all-weather R3, that consistency matters. Accossato's general claims of long life, reduced fade and high stopping power are passed on as its statements.

All Weather at the Rear

In rain, a controlled rear brake input helps keep the bike stable when the front tyre has less grip. ST is designed to bite cleanly on a wet disc and to keep its behaviour steady through changing temperatures. With luggage on the back, the rear brake also carries a bigger share of the load. For town riding in good weather, OR is quieter. Year-round R3 riders also cover plenty of distance in the dark, on greasy roundabouts and on cold roads where the front tyre can feel vague. A rear brake that responds the same way every time, without needing warmth, is a small but real contribution to feeling in control on those rides, and it helps when a loaded bike has to stop on a wet downhill.

Winter Care

Salt and grime shorten the life of rear pads. Rinse the caliper after winter rides and check the pads more often.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP254 for the YZF 321 R3 from 2015 to 2026. One box covers the R3's single rear caliper. Accossato's front pad for this model is AGPA243. Check the rear disc and fluid level at each pad change.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or test certificate for AGPP254ST, so it is sold for track and competition use.
