DescriptionThe whole story▼
Of the 1100-class Scramblers, the Sport is the one aimed at riders who use the whole road. It sits at the firmer end of the range, and the people who buy it generally ride it accordingly: faster on a favourite stretch, harder on the brakes, out more often. Everything in the braking system ages a little quicker on a bike used that way, including the fluid at the back. Accossato's TS012 is the replacement cap for the rear reservoir of a Scrambler 1100 Sport, aluminium and anodised in seven colours.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport
- Accossato lists 2018 and 2019 for this model
- Takes the place of the cap on the original reservoir
- Machined from aluminium, then anodised
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Accossato catalogues the same cap for many other machines
- No German ABE in our documents; for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Every TS012 leaves the CNC machines as a finished aluminium part and receives its colour in the anodising bath afterwards; blue, green, black, orange, red, silver and gold are the seven available. Because anodised colour belongs to the metal, it is a practical finish for a low-mounted component that is cleaned often and looked at rarely. Accossato produces the cap for the rear reservoir Ducati fits to the machines on its list, so a Scrambler 1100 Sport keeps its standard rear brake. Use the moment the old cap is off to examine the diaphragm below it, and replace that part first if it is stiff, distorted or damaged.
Ridden Harder, Serviced Sooner
There is a simple principle behind brake fluid: it takes moisture from the air, and the more heat it then sees, the less it likes having done so. A Scrambler 1100 Sport that is ridden with enthusiasm on warm days gives its fluid more to cope with than a machine used twice a month for shopping, which is why the interval in the owner's manual deserves to be treated as an outer limit. Renewing the fluid is a workshop job with a proper bleed at the end, and the cap plays no part in it. What you can do at home is the rest. Stand the bike upright so the rear reservoir lies level, clean around it before opening, and lay a cloth over nearby paint with water ready for splashes. Check the level between the marks and the colour of the fluid, close the reservoir promptly, then fit the TS012 with gentle, even pressure on the fixings. Press the pedal several times in the garage. The first junction of the next ride should feel exactly as it did before.
Fitment and Compatibility
The TS012 is listed by Accossato for the rear reservoir of the Scrambler 1100 Sport in 2018 and 2019, replacing the original cap. Where the rear brake has been modified, check the maker's application list before you order. We also carry this cap for the Diavel 1260 S, the Hypermotard 950 SP and Benelli's Leoncino 500 Trail, which shows how common this type of reservoir is across several manufacturers.
Road Approval
A German ABE or any other approval document for the TS012 is not something we hold, so we list the cap for racing and competition purposes.
