DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 250SX's two-stroke engine uses an exhaust valve mechanism to spread its power beyond a narrow band, and the cover protecting that mechanism sits right at the hottest part of the cylinder. Accossato's CVN01, in orange, is the exhaust valve cover listed for this bike's 2007-to-2016 build, closing over the control mechanism in place of the standard-fit part.
Key Features
- Exhaust valve cover for the KTM 250SX, 2007 to 2016
- Accossato code CVN01, closes over the exhaust valve control mechanism
- Available in orange
- Accossato also lists a second version, CVS01, in blue or black, for this bike
- Same part also listed for the Husqvarna TE 300, KTM 250EXC-F and KTM 300EXC
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
This cover closes over the 250SX's exhaust valve control mechanism in place of the factory part; the same code is also listed for the Husqvarna TE 300 and the KTM 250EXC-F and 300EXC, as shown below. Orange is the only option under this code, with the separate CVS01 covering blue and black instead. Discolouration beyond the usual heat tint, or a crack at the edge, is the thing to look for on either version.
Mounted on the Exhaust Side of the Cylinder
Sitting close to the cylinder head on the exhaust side, the CVN01 is one of the first small covers to pick up discolouration and residue over a season of riding. Wiping it clean during routine maintenance stops that residue baking into a crust that can hide early cracking underneath. Riders who race regularly often check this cover more often than the bike's other small covers simply because of where it sits. Catching a warped or cracked one before a race weekend avoids a problem mid-moto.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's own application list for the CVN01 runs across the 250SX's 2007-to-2016 build. The same cover reaches the Husqvarna TE 300 and the KTM 250EXC-F and 300EXC, all sharing a related valve system, so an owner running more than one of these bikes can settle on one finish across the lot. Matching the exact build year against that list before ordering still applies here.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for the CVN01, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
