DescriptionThe whole story▼

For a current MT-09 SP that has been prepared for racing, Accossato offers the AGPA106EV2, a front pad for the 2024 to 2026 SP in the EV2 racing compound. It is meant for riders who take the SP to race meetings, compete in qualifying and demand consistent braking from the first corner to the chequered flag.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Yamaha MT-09 SP, 2024 to 2026
  • Article AGPA106EV2 in the EV2 racing compound
  • Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound
  • For race meetings, qualifying and timed laps
  • Two pads per box, one set for one caliper
  • The SP has two front calipers: two boxes are needed
  • The AGPA106 is also offered as ST, EV1 and ZXC
  • No German ABE available; for circuit and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

EV2 is Accossato's racing compound, described by the company as a top racing compound. On the AGPA106 plate for the current SP, it is aimed at hard, repeated stops at race pace. Accossato designs it to control heat and resist fade.

Qualifying on the Current SP

Qualifying is often the most demanding session for the brakes. The rider pushes for one or two fast laps, braking later than in practice, and every tenth counts. On a race-prepared SP, the front pads must deliver the same response lap after lap. The EV2 compound is designed for this. Use practice to bed in new pads and learn the markers, then fine-tune the lever position. Between sessions, check pad wear and disc condition, and bleed the brakes with fresh fluid if the lever feel changes. Keep spare pads and tools ready in the pit.

Pads Across a Season

Over a season a racing SP gets through several front sets. Write down when each pair went in and which circuits it has seen, since a set that lasts well on a flowing track may be marginal where there are three heavy stops per lap. Store spares somewhere dry, away from oil and chain lube, and throw away any pad that has been contaminated rather than trying to clean it.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPA106 plate belongs to the SP built from 2024 to 2026 and to no earlier year; a 2018 to 2023 SP runs the AGPA97 shape. For the rear caliper Accossato names the AGPP88 on every SP from 2018 on. Racing means both front calipers get fresh pads at the same time, so that is two boxes on the bench. Before the meeting, scrub the pistons, gauge both discs, and bleed the circuit with new racing fluid. Should the discs need replacing, Accossato has the DK077 and DKS073 on file for the SP.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test documents for this pad are in our files. The AGPA106EV2 is offered only for circuit and competition use.

Scope of Delivery
