DescriptionThe whole story▼
Endurance racing for middleweight twins is a popular format, and the Suzuki SV650 is one of the bikes most often entered by small teams. Over several hours the brakes are used hundreds of times without a break. Accossato lists its AGPA95 front pad for SV650 versions from 1999 to 2021, and in the EV2 racing compound it carries the SKU AGPA95EV2. It is aimed at endurance teams and sprint racers who need consistency over a long race.
Key Features
- AGPA95 front pad for the Suzuki SV650, 1999 to 2021
- EV2 racing compound, SKU AGPA95EV2
- Accossato calls it a top racing compound
- For endurance and sprint racing
- Designed to repeat its performance over a long race
- For small teams running an SV650
- OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC are alternatives
- No ABE on file; competition use only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato ranks EV2 racing among its top racing compounds. In endurance racing this means a pad that keeps working through several stints with little change in feel, which lets each rider in the team trust the brake. The maker also points to low wear and good heat management, both valuable when a race lasts hours.
Hours on the Brakes
In a four-hour or six-hour race, the SV650's front brake may be used several hundred times. Riders change, fuel is added and the bike keeps running. A pad that stays consistent through all of this, and that wears slowly enough to last or to be changed quickly in a planned stop, is part of a good race strategy.
EV2 is designed for exactly this kind of long, demanding work.
Pit Stop Planning
Decide in advance whether the pads will last the whole race or need changing. Practise the change, prepare the tools and label the spare set. Check fluid before the start and after the race.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato includes the SV 650 S of 1999 to 2002 and 2003 to 2012, the ABS SV 650 S of 2007 to 2018 and the SV 650 of 2016 to 2021 in the AGPA95 entry. Since AGPA94 is listed for many of these bikes too, compare the pads fitted to your endurance machine. Two front calipers mean two boxes per change.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German approval document for AGPA95EV2 in our files; it is offered for racing only.
