DescriptionThe whole story▼

An MV Agusta RVS #1 800 in a race is a rare sight, but the platform underneath is a capable three-cylinder naked. For the few owners who race one, whether from 2018, 2019 or 2020, Accossato offers the front pad in EV2 racing compound, made for timed sessions, qualifying and repeated full-effort stops.

Key Features

  • EV2 racing front pads for the MV Agusta RVS #1 800
  • 2018 to 2020
  • A top racing compound, says Accossato
  • For qualifying and race sessions
  • Built for repeated heavy stops
  • Two pads per box, one caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's statement for EV2 is that it is a top racing compound. The pad is presented as a competition part and nothing else, so it should be judged on the circuit. The company's standing goals, a friction material that wears slowly, that stays within its working temperature so the lever does not fade, and that slows the bike firmly, are here directed at the demands of racing. On a light three-cylinder naked with plenty of corner speed, those demands are concentrated in short, intense braking zones.

From Showpiece to Grid

Turning a special edition into a race bike usually means removing its show parts and focusing on the essentials: tyres, suspension, brakes. For the brakes, riders at that stage need a compound that stays consistent through a whole race with heavy stops at the end of every straight. EV2 is chosen for that. It suits riders who work with lap times and braking markers. ZXC is Accossato's other racing option here; OR, ST and EV1 cover the road.

Building Up to the Race

Put new pads into both front calipers before the event and spend the opening practice laps bedding them in with steadily harder stops. Measure pad material and look over the discs after each outing, change the fluid before the meeting, and clean every piston before pushing it back. A spare pair in the van costs little and can save a race if the first set wears faster than expected.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's catalogue connects this EV2 front pad with a single model, the MV Agusta RVS #1 800 of 2018 to 2020. At the back, AGPA42 is the matching part. Race conversions that swap calipers must check the pad outline before ordering. Front braking relies on two calipers here, so a full change takes two boxes.

Road Approval

No ABE, test mark or road approval is available for these pads. They are intended for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery

Two racing pads in one box, one caliper. No hardware.
