DescriptionThe whole story▼

AGPA177EV1 is Accossato's front pad for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XRX, 2018 to 2020, in the EV1 street/track compound. It is for XRX riders who want more from the front brake than a touring pad offers: the rider who has done an advanced training course and now brakes later and harder on country roads, or the owner who books an instructor-led track session to sharpen technique on a big adventure bike.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA177 for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XRX, 2018 to 2020
  • EV1 street/track compound, SKU AGPA177EV1
  • Accossato: excellent grip for the road and amateur circuit use
  • Quicker, more decisive bite than a touring pad
  • Suits riders practising advanced technique
  • Ready for an instructor-led track session
  • This pad also comes as ST, EV2 and ZXC
  • No approval documents on file; for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

EV1 street/track is described by Accossato as a mixture with plenty of grip on public roads that also holds up to amateur sessions on a circuit. On the XRX that shows up as a lever that produces a strong response early in its travel. Accossato designs its compounds to resist fading through controlled temperatures and to wear at a sensible pace, which helps when the brake is used hard several times in a row.

Training Days and Country Roads

Rider training on a closed circuit is one of the most useful things an adventure bike owner can do. Instructors ask you to brake later and harder than you normally would, repeatedly, to learn where the limits lie. On a Tiger 1200 XRX that puts real heat into the front brake. A compound built for the road and amateur track use handles that better than a pure touring pad. Afterwards, on the ride home and on the next weekend's country roads, the same pad keeps working, with a crisper response that rewards the technique you have just practised.

Before the Session

Check fluid age, disc thickness and pad wear. Fit the new EV1 pads a few days before the event and bed them in on quiet roads.

Fitment and Compatibility

The front brake of the Tiger 1200 XRX takes AGPA177 for the 2018 to 2020 model years in Accossato's list; AGPA76 is the rear pad over the same period. Each box equips one caliper, so check your XRX's front brake before ordering. Replace pads as an axle set and pump the lever until it is firm.

Road Approval

We have no ABE and no test certificate for this front pad. AGPA177EV1 is sold for motorsport and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two EV1 street/track pads for a single front caliper.
