DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato's AGPA177EV1 is the front pad for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XR, model years 2018 and 2019, in the EV1 street/track compound. It suits XR owners who ride with some ambition: early mornings on empty mountain roads, brisk rides with friends and perhaps a first trackday to explore the bike's limits in a safe setting. The compound delivers a stronger, more direct bite than a touring pad while still working on the road.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA177 for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XR, 2018 and 2019
  • EV1 street/track compound, SKU AGPA177EV1
  • Accossato: excellent grip on the street and for amateur track use
  • Stronger initial bite for sporting riders
  • For mountain roads and group rides
  • Can cope with a first trackday
  • Also on this pad: ST, EV2 and ZXC
  • No approval documents; for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato positions EV1 street/track as a compound with strong grip for road riding that can also handle amateur circuit use. On the front of the Tiger 1200 XR, this means a firmer response early in the lever travel, useful when you brake late into a bend. Accossato's pads are designed to control heat and so reduce fading, and to wear at a reasonable rate.

A Big Tiger on a Twisty Road

A large adventure bike can be ridden surprisingly quickly on a winding road, and the XR's road-biased chassis encourages it. When you ride that way, the front brake works hard at every bend, repeatedly slowing a lot of mass. EV1 is aimed at this rider: someone who uses the brake firmly and often, and who wants a clear, immediate response. If you take the XR to a trackday, prepare the brakes with fresh fluid and clean discs, and bed the new pads in on the road beforehand.

Smooth Inputs Still Matter

A stronger pad does not mean harsher braking. Squeeze progressively, let the fork compress before applying full force, and release smoothly as you turn in. That keeps a tall, heavy bike calm.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPA177 is listed by Accossato for the front of the Tiger 1200 XR in 2018 and 2019; the rear partner for these years is AGPA76. One box equips one caliper, so check how many calipers your XR has at the front. Replace both sides at the same time and pump the lever until firm before riding.

Road Approval

There is no ABE and no test certificate for this pad in our records. AGPA177EV1 is sold for motorsport use.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two EV1 street/track front pads for one caliper.
