DescriptionThe whole story▼
At any hard enduro race with a difficult climb there comes a moment when the hill stops moving. Riders stall, fall, restart and get in each other's way, and a queue builds at the bottom. Big-bore two-strokes such as the Beta RR 300 are a popular choice for this kind of event, because their power can be fed in gently at very low speed, yet in the queue every bike depends on the same thing: a clutch that still works. Built for the RR 300 two-stroke of 2013 to 2022, Accossato's C7283 is a clutch lever machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a long blade that takes four fingers and folds on a joint.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Beta RR 300 two-stroke, model years 2013 to 2022
- Fits the original clutch mount in place of the standard lever
- Long, four-finger blade, as Accossato draws its clutch levers
- Anti-break joint allows the blade to fold forward if it is struck
- Machined from a solid block of Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue, orange or red over a dark base
- Supplied singly; no German ABE, for off-road use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's approach to the C7283 is subtraction. The starting point is solid Ergal 7075, a strong aluminium alloy, and CNC machines in Italy remove material until only the lever remains. The goals the company gives for its levers are strength, low weight and dependability. The finished part has a dark base, which stays attached at the pivot, and a blade in the colour of your choice, joined to it by a folding joint. As a clutch lever it follows Accossato's longer pattern, with enough length for all four fingers.
Traffic on the Hill
Waiting in line on a hard enduro climb is mostly clutch work. The engine ticks over, the bike creeps forward a little at a time, and every few seconds the left hand eases the lever out to close a gap before pulling it in again. When your turn comes you need a clean launch: revs up, clutch fed in smoothly, weight forward, eyes on the top. Any hesitation and the RR 300 two-stroke joins the collection of stalled machines scattered across the slope.
The danger in a bottleneck is not only your own mistakes. Bikes that fall above you slide back down; a rider pushing past catches your handlebar; helpers drag machines sideways across the line. A clutch lever sits exposed on the left of the bar through all of it, and it takes only one bike landing on it to leave you without a clutch in the very place you need it most. The joint on the C7283 lets the blade fold forward when it is hit, which gives it a chance of coming through knocks that would break a solid lever. That is no guarantee, but on a hill where every rider needs a working clutch to reach the top, a fighting chance for the Beta RR 300 two-stroke is worth having.
Fitment and Compatibility
The C7283 appears in Accossato's list for the Beta RR 300 two-stroke from 2013 to 2022 and fits at the original clutch mount. On the right-hand side, the B8206 is the matching folding brake lever, listed for the same 2013 to 2022 span. Black, blue and red are offered on both levers; orange is found only on this one, gold only on the brake.
Road Approval
No German ABE covers the C7283. It is sold for competition and for riding away from public roads, and on a registered RR 300 two-stroke it is not approved for road use.
Scope of Delivery
