DescriptionThe whole story▼
Enduro tests are usually ridden more than once, and the ground rarely stays the same. A dry test on the first lap can be slick on the second after a shower, and the braking points you learned are suddenly wrong. On the Sherco SE 300, a strong two-stroke enduro, the front brake is the control that needs the most care when the grip changes. Accossato's B8282 is the replacement front brake lever for the SE 300 from 2014 to 2022, milled from Ergal 7075, with a blade for three fingers that is hinged to fold forward in a crash.
Key Features
- Folding front brake lever for the Sherco SE 300 two-stroke, model years 2014 to 2022
- Mounts on the original front brake master cylinder
- Anti-break joint: the blade may fold forward in a fall
- Shorter blade, sized for three fingers
- Milled from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black or orange; dark base
- No German ABE; for off-road riding and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Ergal 7075, the high-strength aluminium alloy Accossato uses for these off-road levers, arrives at the factory in Italy as solid stock and leaves as a B8282. Machining the lever from the full piece is how the company pursues its three aims of strength, low weight and reliability. A dark base carries the lever at the master cylinder, and the blade, in black or orange, is linked to that base by a folding joint. Brake blades from Accossato are the shorter kind, with space for three fingers.
Second Lap, Different Grip
Between laps, riders compare notes about the test: where it has cut up, where it has dried, where the rain has made the roots slick. The line that worked on the first lap may now be a trap. Braking points move earlier, and the front brake is squeezed more gently, because a front wheel that locks on wet ground rarely recovers. The fastest riders are often the ones who adapt first, not the ones who were quickest in the dry.
Still, second laps produce crashes. A rider arrives at a corner at the speed that worked an hour earlier, brakes at the same marker, and the front slides away on ground that was dry the first time round. The SE 300 goes down on its right, and the brake lever hits the ground at speed. The B8282's joint gives the blade the option of folding forward under that impact rather than breaking, which can let the rider continue with a working front brake. That is a chance rather than a certainty, but on a timed test, keeping the Sherco SE 300 going is what counts.
Fitment and Compatibility
Model years 2014 to 2022 of the Sherco SE 300 two-stroke are what Accossato lists for the B8282. On the clutch side of that bike, the folding C7283 covers the same span. The brake lever is offered in black or orange; the clutch lever adds blue and red to those two.
Road Approval
The B8282 has no German ABE. On a road-registered SE 300 it is not approved for public roads; it is intended for off-road and competition use.
