DescriptionThe whole story

A naked bike's front brake has to work without the rider being able to brace against a tank. ZCOO cuts the N007 at 101.5 by 39.0 mm to fill the Nissin caliper window of the CTX700N. The compound is EX Race, which on the Honda CTX700N builds force with the lever instead of ahead of it.

Key Features

  • Consistent lever travel as the pad thins, so the bite point on the CTX700N does not creep between services
  • Supplied as a pack of two - the exact set the Nissin caliper of the CTX700N takes
  • Direct replacement for the standard Nissin pad on the Honda CTX700N - no shims, no spacers, no modification
  • No proprietary tooling needed: the N007 drops into the Nissin caliper the CTX700N already has
  • Stable friction from the first squeeze to the wear limit, so the CTX700N brakes the same on a cold morning and at the bottom of a pass
  • ZCOO specifies this reference for the Honda CTX700N directly, not by cross-reference from a similar machine

Construction and Material Quality

Every ZCOO reference, the N007 among them, is built around one idea: keep the friction face flat. On a 101.5 by 39.0 mm face the backing plate decides whether the pad wears evenly or takes on a taper. Both details exist so the N007 keeps its pressure distribution honest as it wears down.

Performance and Feel

On a CTX700N the second half of a session is where EX Race earns its price. The compound lays a thin ceramic film on the rotor as it beds, which is why the Honda CTX700N sees far less disc wear than a conventional sinter would cause. On the Honda CTX700N that turns a violent event into a metered one.

Fitment and Compatibility

Fitment covers the Honda CTX700N from 2013 to 2018 with the Nissin caliper. Front axle only; the N007 has no rear counterpart in the ZCOO programme. The same N007 shape covers 70 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 101.5 mm length and 39.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
