DescriptionThe whole story▼
Track-only engine builds for the Street Triple 765 RS often do away with the factory AIS secondary air injection system, and once that system is gone, the stock valve covers it ran through are no longer the right part for the job. Melotti Racing's aluminium AIS valve cover set replaces them, built specifically for bikes that have deleted AIS, and it can be fitted on the 765 RS even without pulling the reed valves first, reusing their original gasket in the process rather than needing a new one.
Key Features
- Aluminium AIS valve cover set for track-prepared Street Triple 765 RS engines with AIS deleted
- Can be fitted without removing the reed valves, reusing their existing gasket
- Sold and priced as a pair
- Melotti part AIS.TR.2221, shared across the Street Triple 765 range
- Replaces the stock AIS-routed covers rather than modifying them
- Fits the Street Triple 765 RS built from 2017 to 2025
Construction and Material Quality
Melotti Racing machines this cover set in aluminium, built as the direct counterpart to the stock covers once a 765 RS's AIS system has been removed for track use. Because the covers can go on without pulling the reed valves, the original reed valve gasket stays in place and does its job, which saves both a part and the labour of resealing that joint separately. It is a focused fix for one specific consequence of deleting AIS, not a general cosmetic cover.
Removing the AIS System Without Removing the Reed Valves
Deleting the secondary air injection system is a common step in preparing a 765 RS for a track-only engine build, usually done to simplify the intake and remove a source of vacuum leaks under race conditions, but it leaves the stock covers with nowhere correct to seal. By fitting over the existing reed valve assembly rather than requiring it out, Melotti Racing's covers let a mechanic finish this part of the conversion in one step on the workbench rather than planning a separate reed valve service around it.
Fitment and Compatibility
This cover set's listing spans the 765 RS from 2017 to 2025, and the identical pair is sold separately for the 765 R, since both bikes share the same engine. Most orders for this part come from mechanics who have already removed the AIS plumbing elsewhere on the bike and just need the last two covers to finish the job.
Road Approval
No type approval or test certificate is on file for this cover set, and deleting the AIS system is a track-only engine change. Running a Street Triple 765 RS set up this way on public roads in Germany without separate registration is not permitted, and at race meetings the organiser's rules apply.
