DescriptionThe whole story

Engineered with direct input from MotoGP, WSBK and Moto2 programmes, the LighTech FTRDU014 rearset system is purpose-built for professional circuit competition on the Ducati Panigale 1199, 1199 S and 1199 R. Configured exclusively for GP-shift (reverse pattern), it delivers the uncompromising mechanical precision that serious racers and trackday riders demand — with zero concession to road use or road-legal certification.

Key Features

  • CNC-machined from Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium — the same aerospace-grade alloy used across top-tier motorsport programmes for an optimal strength-to-weight ratio
  • Levers pivoted directly on the footpeg for an exceptionally direct, immediate shift feel with minimal mechanical slop
  • Oversized ball bearings throughout for maximum precision and long-term durability under sustained track loading
  • Dedicated GP-shift (reverse pattern) configuration matched to the requirements of circuit competition
  • Ergonomic heel guards included to protect boots and improve foot placement consistency lap after lap
  • Track-only engineering: no compromises introduced to satisfy road-legal or TÜV certification requirements

Circuit-Grade Construction

LighTech developed the FTRDU014 as a response to the demands of professional motorsport at the highest level. Ergal 7075-T6 is an aluminium alloy chosen specifically for its exceptional tensile strength and resistance to fatigue under repeated, high-load inputs — exactly the conditions encountered during hard braking and aggressive corner exits on circuit. Every component is CNC-machined to tight tolerances, ensuring consistent geometry and repeatable feel across an entire race weekend.

The decision to pivot the gear and brake levers directly on the footpeg is a deliberate engineering choice: it shortens the mechanical path between rider input and lever movement, producing a direct, tactile response that allows for faster, more confident gear changes. Combined with oversized bearings, this design resists the wear and play that can accumulate in less robust rearset systems after sustained track use.

GP-Shift Configuration

The FTRDU014 is designed exclusively around the GP-shift (reverse shift pattern) configuration — one up, rest down. This is the standard pattern used across MotoGP and WSBK and is preferred by many circuit riders for its ergonomic advantages when riding at full tuck with the knee on the tank. It is not convertible to standard road shift pattern.

Important Safety and Legal Notice

This rearset system is designed and approved for track use only. It is not TÜV-certified and carries no road-use homologation. It must not be fitted to any motorcycle operated on public roads. Fitting is the responsibility of a competent technician with appropriate circuit motorsport experience.
