DescriptionThe whole story▼

The JP ACCGP KT016 fits the KTM 1190 Adventure built between 2013 and 2016, a larger-displacement step up the range aimed at riders covering long motorway distances with panniers fitted as often as weekend rides without them. A sixty-degree throttle rotation keeps that extra power easy to meter precisely.

Key Features

  • KTM 1190 Adventure (2013–2016)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

More Displacement, More to Meter

The 1190's larger V-twin produces noticeably more torque than the 1090 or 1050 below it in the range, which raises the consequence of an imprecise throttle input, particularly when pulling away heavily loaded with luggage or a passenger. A shorter rotation keeps that extra torque within easier reach of fine control rather than simply making the bike faster without adding precision.

Loaded for the Motorway, Not the Trail

A 1190 Adventure fitted with panniers for a long tour behaves differently under throttle than the same bike ridden light, carrying more weight through corners and needing more deliberate, early throttle application out of them. The shorter rotation suits that loaded, motorway-biased riding far more than it would a dedicated off-road machine, where a wider margin for error often matters more.

An Older Generation's Own Delivery Curve

This generation of the LC8 V-twin delivers its power with a character distinct from the throttle-by-wire refinements found in later KTM adventure models, and a shorter rotation gives a rider more precise command over that particular delivery without needing to relearn how the engine responds.

A Firmer Spring for a Heavier, Loaded Bike

A fully loaded 1190 handles differently to the same bike ridden solo and unladen, and the progressive spring's three external preload settings let an owner firm up the throttle's snap-back to suit a touring configuration rather than accepting whatever tension the factory considered average for an unloaded motorcycle.

Machined to Outlast a High-Mileage Touring Life

Built from solid Ergal rather than stamped sheet, the shorter cam holds its tolerances across the high mileage a touring-focused adventure bike like the 1190 tends to accumulate, where consistency over years of use matters more than performance on any single ride.

A Straightforward Fit Before a Long Tour

Installation uses the stock connector and mounting points, finishing with the usual diagnostic throttle position reset, and takes no longer regardless of how the motorcycle is configured for a trip. The standard throttle refits just as easily later if an owner prefers it.
