DescriptionThe whole story▼

The JP ACCGP AP009 for the Aprilia Shiver 900 shortens throttle rotation to sixty degrees and adds a progressive, three-stage spring, a combination many owners fit specifically to ease the wrist fatigue that builds on longer rides with the standard, wider-arc GP throttle.

Key Features

  • Aprilia Shiver 900 (2017–2019)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

A Naked Built for Daily Distance

The Shiver 900 is ridden more often as a daily or touring-leaning naked than as a track tool, which means its riders tend to log longer, steadier stretches in the saddle where small sources of fatigue matter more than they would over a short, sharp session.

Where the Ache Settles In

Holding a throttle rolled open for an extended stretch, even one well short of full lean-angle riding, keeps the wrist at an angle that most riders stop consciously noticing until a longer ride is over and the ache is already there.

Less Rotation, Less to Hold

Shortening the throttle's own stroke to sixty degrees means the wrist does not have to roll as far to reach a given level of throttle opening, which reduces how long it spends away from its more neutral, relaxed position over a long ride.

A V-Twin That Does Not Demand the Top End

The Shiver's 900cc V-twin makes its torque available early and broadly, so riders rarely need to hold the throttle near full opening the way a peakier engine would require, which makes the comfort gain from a shorter stroke more noticeable in everyday use.

Three Stages for Different Days

A lighter preload suits a relaxed weekend ride, while a firmer one suits a day spent covering more distance at a brisker pace; the choice sits at an external adjustment rather than inside the housing.

Fitted Without Disturbing the Rest of the Bike

The throttle bolts to the Shiver's existing housing mounts without touching surrounding switchgear, and the standard diagnostic reset of the throttle position completes the installation before the bike is ridden.
