DescriptionThe whole story▼
MV Agusta built the Superveloce 800 Oro as a limited version of its retro sports bike for 2020, with the gold detailing that gave the model its name. Machines of that kind are usually ridden sparingly and kept for years, so every change an owner makes is weighed up instead of made on impulse. When an Oro does go to a circuit, the tank is opened far more often than on a Sunday ride. For that situation Accossato lists the FC101: a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium, with the pawl offered in six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Oro, model year 2020
- Body machined entirely from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and shutting the tank without delay
- Pin colours to choose from: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available on its own should it ever be damaged
- New design by Accossato
- Compare your machine with Accossato's application list before ordering
- No German ABE documented; supplied for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium, cut on CNC machines, is all that goes into the body of the FC101, and Accossato calls the finished part robust and durable. Its shape is a design of the firm's own rather than a copy of anything. What an owner actually handles is the quick-closing pawl: it frees the cap in a moment and secures it again just as quickly. The pin in that pawl is ordered in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold, and gold happens to sit close to the Oro's own trim, though that is a matter of taste. Damage to the pawl does not cost you the cap, because Accossato sells the pawl by itself.
A Change That Can Be Put Back
Owners of limited machines hesitate over aftermarket parts, and the useful question is rarely whether something looks right. It is whether the bike can be returned to the state it left the factory in. A filler cap is one of the easier answers to that question. The standard part comes off, the Accossato goes on for the circuit, and on the day the Superveloce is sold or put on a stand at a show, the original goes back. Keep the factory cap dry and labelled, write the date of the swap into whatever record you keep for the machine, and take a photograph of the filler area before and after. None of it takes long, and it leaves the Oro one small job away from standard at any time.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the Superveloce 800 Oro for 2020, the year the model was built, and that single entry is what this listing covers. In our catalogue the same FC101 is also filed under the Brutale 800 RR, the F3 675 and the Aprilia Tuono 660. Please match your machine against the application list before you order, or write to us and we will look it up with you.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC101, so we sell it for closed circuits. The Oro leaves the factory with a filler cap that normally opens with the ignition key, and that is the one to keep on the bike for the road.
Scope of Delivery
One Accossato FC101 fuel tank cap with the pin in the colour you choose. The pawl can be ordered separately as a spare.
