This is the page in the range where the recommendation often runs the other way, and it is more useful to say so than to sell past it. The Sprint Filter catalogue lists a P14 element for the Bimota KB4RC and it is a real, correctly fitting part: PM111P14, a direct replacement in the standard airbox with no modification and no remap. But it is a dust medium. Its non-woven fabric filters to 14 microns and passes 1,800 l/m²/sec, against 80 microns and 5,050 l/m²/sec for the standard P08, and a machine of this kind tends to be ridden on chosen roads at a pace that keeps the engine in the upper half of its rev range. That is exactly the operating point at which giving up flow stops being free.
Key Features
- Dry non-woven, and fine with it: 14 microns, 1,800 l/m²/sec of flow
- The filtering surface runs to roughly double that of other performance filters
- No oil in the fabric, so no film reaches the sensors or throttle bodies
- The standard airbox takes it in place of the original — no modification, no remap
- Washable and reused; the routine is compressed air from the clean side
- Two years of warranty, and an element meant to see out the motorcycle
When the standard medium is the right answer
If the roads are clean tarmac and the riding is fast, buy the P08 instead. It filters to 80 microns and flows 5,050 l/m²/sec, in the same dry construction, with the same absence of oil, the same washing procedure and the same fit in the standard airbox. It is the standard medium because it is the balanced one, and on a litre-class four used the way most of these machines are used, balance is the thing worth having. A finer weave is not a higher grade of the same product; it is a different setting of the same trade, and the trade only pays where the conditions justify it.
When this element earns its place
There is a real test for that, and it is about the air rather than the motorcycle. Gravel or unsealed roads at either end of a ride. Long dry summers, agricultural work, dust that stands visibly over the surface. A region where roads are gritted in winter and the residue is still being swept in spring. Or a bike used mostly in dense traffic, where brake and tyre particulate is the load and it is very fine. In those conditions what gets past the filter becomes the more pressing question than what gets through it, and 14 microns is the sensible answer.
Care and cleaning
The order matters more than the effort: air through the medium from the clean side outwards, and the element dry before it goes back. Where conditions have asked for more, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until the water runs clear, then dry it in open air — heat and flame damage the medium and are never used. Oil never is either. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Bimota KB4RC, 2022 to 2026. The same PM111P14 element covers five machines built around this airbox, including the KB4 and the Kawasaki models sharing the engine; the complete list is in the Fitment tab.
