DescriptionThe whole story▼

Aprilia built the RS 660 for riders who had worked out that 200 horsepower is mostly wasted on a road. What it gave them was a light, agile twin with genuinely good brakes — and a lever that cannot be moved a millimetre to suit the hand pulling it.

Key Features

  • Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
  • Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
  • Engineered break point inside the two-finger zone
  • Phosphated pivot seat, free of play from new
  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Machined from Billet

Aluminium cut from solid, bored, phosphated at the pivot, then hard anodised black. The blade arrives without play, which on a bike this precise is not a luxury: slop in the pivot is felt directly as uncertainty in the first part of the squeeze.

Corner Speed Is the Currency

A 660 twin does not let you brake late and recover with the throttle. You carry speed instead, and you protect it by releasing the brake smoothly into the apex. That release happens in the first few millimetres of lever travel, which is exactly what reach adjustment controls.

Thirty-Five Steps

The wheel sits inside the lever body and turns by hand. Riders with smaller hands — a large part of this bike's audience — usually find their position inside the first few clicks and never touch it again.

Road Approval

Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203. Download the certificate from this page, print it, and keep it with the vehicle papers. No entry in the documents and no inspection are required.

Scope of Delivery

One black brake lever for the RS 660. Supplied on its own; the original pivot bolt and nut are reused, so nothing is drilled or cut.
