DescriptionThe whole story▼

With a passenger on the back or a pair of soft bags on the seat, the rear brake of a Yamaha XJ6 gains importance, especially on wet roads and long descents. For the XJ6 from 2013 to 2015, Accossato lists its AGPP88 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound. It is intended for riders who ride two-up, travel with luggage or simply use the bike in all weather, and want a consistent rear brake throughout.

Key Features

  • AGPP88 rear pad, Sintered (ST) compound
  • For the Yamaha XJ6, 2013 to 2015
  • Steady grip at high and low temperatures
  • Good wet grip, per Accossato
  • Suited to pillion riding and luggage
  • One box for the rear caliper
  • OR version also offered

Construction and Material Quality

The ST compound, as Accossato puts it, holds a high grip level that does not change much between cold and hot, and grips well in wet conditions. On a rear brake that sees road spray, that is what counts. The rear caliper of an XJ6 sits low and close to the tyre, so it collects water and grime on every rainy ride, and a compound that keeps working in those conditions is the sensible pick for anyone who does not wait for sunshine.

Two-Up in Changing Weather

With a pillion, weight shifts backwards and the rear brake can do more of the work. On a wet road, a sintered rear pad responds without hesitation, and on a long descent it keeps its feel as it heats. That makes it easier for the rider to stop smoothly, which the passenger will notice. For XJ6 riders who travel two-up or ride in rain regularly, this is the more suitable compound.

After Wet Rides

Rinse road grime from the caliper and check that the pads move freely. Grit in the caliper can lead to uneven wear, and a pad that sticks slightly will drag and wear the disc on one side. A soft brush and plain water are enough; keep oily sprays away from the disc.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP88 for the XJ6-N, XJ6-S and XJ6-F 600 from 2013 to 2015. The front pad is AGPA22. One rear caliper needs one box. Accossato also offers the DK077 and DKS073 discs. Clean the pistons, check disc and fluid, and pump the pedal firm before riding.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test documentation is available. The pad is supplied for competition use.

Scope of Delivery
