DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha Tracer 900 is built to cover big distances quickly, and owners use it for exactly that: a thousand-kilometre day to reach the Dolomites, then a week of passes with a pillion and luggage. Accossato front pad AGPA97 in the Sintered (ST) compound is intended for that kind of fast touring. Accossato lists AGPA97 for the Tracer 900 from 2015 to 2024. ST is meant to deliver an even grip in cold and heat and to work well on wet discs.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad in the Sintered (ST) compound
- Listed for the Yamaha Tracer 900, 2015-2024
- Accossato: high, constant grip at high and low temperatures
- Accossato: good grip on wet discs
- Even lever feel on long, fast descents
- Two pads, one caliper
- Also made as OR, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says its Sintered compound keeps a high and constant grip whether the pads are hot or cold, and that it grips well in wet conditions. On a fast sports tourer, which can arrive at a hairpin with more speed than a smaller bike and carries a passenger and luggage, that evenness counts. Accossato's broader claims of slow wear, reduced fade and high stopping power are passed on as the company's statements.
Fast Touring With a Triple
A Tracer 900 reaches the next bend quickly, so on a long descent the front brakes work harder than on a slower tourer. ST is designed to keep its grip steady through that heat, so the lever does not drift and the braking point stays where the rider expects it. On a rainy morning in the mountains, it is meant to bite promptly on a wet disc. The passenger feels the difference too: smooth, predictable stops make long days more comfortable. For town-only riding OR is quieter; EV1 is sharper for dry solo rides.
Preparing for a Tour
Before a long trip, check there is plenty of pad left, replace the brake fluid if it is due and make sure both discs are clean and free of grooves.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue lists AGPA97 for the TRACER 900 from 2015 to 2024. The bike has two front calipers, so plan on two boxes for the front. For the rear, Accossato gives AGPP88 for the same years, also made in the Sintered compound.
Road Approval
AGPA97ST is sold for track and competition use, because no ABE or test paperwork is available to us.
Scope of Delivery
Box containing two Sintered (ST) AGPA97 pads, for one front caliper of the Tracer 900.
