DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MY004 combines Accossato's quick throttle control with the fixed-finish GR002 grip for the Kawasaki ZX-10 R (2016–2020). With no grip colour to choose, the eight anodised cap colours are the only visible option on the kit. The two-piece aluminium housing is CNC-machined in the usual way and comes with the ZX012 cable set for this generation, together with three internal cams of 40, 43 and 45 mm.
Key Features
- Two-piece CNC-machined aluminium throttle housing
- GR002 racing grip in a fixed finish
- Eight anodised cap colour options
- Accossato ZX012 cable set for the Kawasaki ZX-10 R (2016–2020)
- Three interchangeable internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm)
- Also used on the Kawasaki ZX-10 RR (2017–2018)
- Made in Italy, checked before being placed on the market
Construction and Material Quality
The housing is worked from two aluminium halves and anodised in a choice of eight cap colours, as throughout this family of kits. The GR002 grip supplied with the MY004 ships in one fixed finish rather than a range, so it does not add a further colour decision on top of the cap. Three internal cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, are what govern the throttle's pick-up, and these can be swapped once the housing is open without affecting the cable set, which stays routed exactly as fitted.
Picking a Cam Without Picking a Grip Colour
Since the GR002 grip removes one decision from the order, the choice that is left is which of the three cams to run day to day: the 40 mm cam gives the sharpest, shortest throttle action, the 45 mm the longest and gentlest, with the 43 mm in between. All three are supplied in the kit, so a rider new to the ZX-10 R's updated chassis can start on the middle cam and move to the 40 mm once they are used to how the bike turns in, without ordering a second kit. The fixed grip finish makes the kit a quick repeat order too, since there is nothing to reconfirm beyond the cap colour.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ZX012 cable set covers the Kawasaki ZX-10 R across its full 2016 to 2020 run without a change in routing part-way through, and the same part also applies to the ZX-10 RR built in 2017 and 2018; exact years for the R are set out in the Fitment tab on this page.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY004; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. As with any throttle control, make sure the grip returns on its own to the idle position once fitted.
