DescriptionThe whole story▼

Lining up for hole-shot practice means repeating the same launch over and over, and every one of those launches puts the chain under hard load right as it drags across the top of the swingarm on a Husqvarna FC 350. Accossato builds the GPM1 for that section of the FC 350 from 2014 to 2016, a slider the chain runs over so the repeated load of a practice session wears a replaceable part instead of the swingarm.

Key Features

  • Swingarm chain slider for the Husqvarna FC 350, 2014 to 2016
  • Accossato code GPM1, fits along the top of the swingarm
  • Chain runs over the slider rather than the swingarm itself
  • Orange, blue or black
  • Same part also listed for the FC 250, the FC 450 and a wide run of other Husqvarna and KTM off-road models
  • Pairs with Accossato's GCM1 chain guide and axle blocks on the same bike
  • No German ABE on file; for off-road and competition riding

Construction and Material Quality

The GPM1 sits flush along the stretch of the FC 350's swingarm that the chain actually crosses, shaped to this bike rather than cut to a generic length. Orange, blue and black cover the choice of finish, with orange and black closest to the bike's own factory colours. Its surface is what takes the repeated contact from the moving chain, and checking that surface after a heavy block of practice is worth doing before assuming it has shrugged off the session undamaged.

Hole-Shot Practice

A session built entirely around repeating starts puts a different kind of load on the chain than a normal ride does, since every launch drives the chain hard against whatever is underneath it at the exact moment the rear wheel is spinning fastest relative to the ground. Riders drilling starts dozens of times in an afternoon put far more repeated stress through that one stretch of swingarm than an equivalent hour of ordinary riding would, simply because of how concentrated the load is around each launch. A slider fitted along that stretch gives the chain something built to take that repetition, rather than leaving the swingarm itself to absorb it start after start. Checking the slider once the session is done, rather than only at a scheduled service, catches wear from a single hard day before it becomes a bigger job later.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato narrows the application list for this slider to 2014 through 2016 on the FC 350, a shorter window than the chain guide covers for the same bike, so checking your own frame's year matters here. The FC 250, the FC 450 and a long run of related Husqvarna and KTM off-road models sharing this swingarm all take the identical slider. Owners refreshing more of the chain line on this bike can add the chain guide and either style of axle block alongside the slider.

Road Approval

Accossato has no German ABE on file for the GPM1, so it is intended for off-road and competition use, not for a bike used on public roads.
