DescriptionThe whole story▼
When Ducati revived the Scrambler name for 2015, the Classic was the version with the most traditional styling, made for riders who wanted the look of the sixties above all. Bikes like this attract owners who keep records: receipts in a folder, service dates in a notebook, every change written down. That habit is worth extending to the parts you swap for a circuit day. For the Scrambler Classic of 2015 to 2018, Accossato lists the FC105, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined entirely from aluminium on CNC equipment, with a quick-closing pawl and a pin in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Ducati Scrambler Classic, 2015 to 2018
- Complete cap CNC-machined from aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for fast opening and closing
- Pin colours: silver, gold, black, red, blue, green
- Pawl available as an individual spare
- New design by Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the FC105 entirely from aluminium on CNC machines and describes it as robust and durable. Its styling is new, which on a bike with a retro theme is a choice worth making consciously. A quick-closing pawl opens and closes the tank of the Scrambler Classic quickly; the pin on that pawl comes in six colours, and the pawl itself is available separately should it ever be damaged.
Keeping a Workshop Logbook
A logbook does not need to be elaborate. A notebook in the garage or a page in a file on the computer is enough, as long as every entry has a date, an odometer reading and a short description. When the FC105 goes onto the Scrambler Classic, note the date, the Accossato part number, the pin colour and where the original cap is stored. Write down when the caps were swapped before and after each circuit day, and add anything you noticed: a seal that needed reseating, a pawl that felt stiff, a drop of fuel at the rim after the first fill. If a replacement pawl is ever fitted, record that too. Over a few seasons the pages tell a story that memory cannot, and they answer the questions a future buyer or a workshop will ask. They also help you directly: when something changes, you can see what was done last time and when.
Fitment and Compatibility
The FC105 is on Accossato's list for the Scrambler Classic from 2015 to 2018. Our range links the same cap to the Scrambler 1100, the Diavel and the Panigale V4. Before ordering, see that your Classic appears on the application list, and note the result in the logbook while you are at it. Fitting follows the usual rules: cold engine, parked bike, clean filler, evenly seated seal, and a look at the rim after the first fuel goes in.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no expert report are documented for the FC105, so its use is limited to the track. The Scrambler Classic's own cap normally locks with the ignition key and stays on for public roads; this cap does not simply replace it there.
