DescriptionThe whole story▼
The V7 II Racer is Moto Guzzi's café racer: the same small-block V-twin as the other V7 II models, but with clip-on bars, rear-set footpegs and a riding position that leans the rider over the tank. Clip-ons put more weight on the wrists, and they change the angle from which the hand reaches the brake lever. The Accossato EDF016 is a brake lever for the 2015 and 2016 V7 II Racer ABS 750. Cut from aluminium on CNC machines, it goes on the original master cylinder, and its distance from the grip can be adjusted.

Construction and Material Quality
The EDF016 is milled from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised. The hub, with the pivot and the reach adjuster, is always black; the blade takes the colour you choose. Machined aluminium has a technical look that suits a café racer, a style that grew out of riders stripping their bikes and replacing stock parts to make them lighter and quicker. The blade is fixed, one piece from the hub to the tip, with no folding joint.
Clip-Ons and the Angle of the Wrist
A café racer position puts part of your weight on your hands, and a hand carrying weight is poor at fine work. The way out is to support the upper body with your core and grip the tank with your knees, so the arms stay loose and the fingers are free to brake precisely. The lever then has to be where those relaxed fingers can find it. On the V7 II Racer, the clip-ons place the grips low and forward, so a blade set far from the bar makes the wrist bend upwards to reach it, and a bent wrist squeezes less accurately. Bring the EDF016 in until the fingertips rest on it at the first joint with the wrist in line with the forearm. If you ride with two fingers on the brake, the short blade, made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, keeps the remaining fingers free around the grip. The standard length stays nearest to the original part, and it is the only size offered in black and red.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato files the lever under the name V7 750 Racer; for the V7 II Racer ABS 750, the relevant years are 2015 and 2016. The EDF016 replaces the original blade on the Racer's own front master cylinder. Accossato's ESD037 is the matching clutch lever for the same two model years, so a pair in one colour is possible.
Road Approval
The EDF016 is sold for circuit use; a German ABE for it has not been documented.
