The standard weave for this airbox is listed against four Aprilia entries. The dusty-conditions element is listed against two, and both of them are the 1100. PM147P14 does not appear for the litre RSV4 of 2015 to 2020 at all: the housing is shared, the choice of media is not. That is worth registering before shopping by model name: which weaves a machine can be given is decided entry by entry in the supplier's list, not inherited from everything else that takes the same part.
Key Features
- Dry nonwoven polyester made for dust, oil-free when new and after every cleaning
- Rated 14 µm at 1,800 l/m²/sec — the dusty-conditions medium of the Sprint Filter range
- Finer and slower-flowing than the 80 µm weave listed for the same airbox; the exchange is deliberate
- Close to twice the filtering area of a typical performance element, in the original panel frame
- Takes the paper element's place in the series airbox: no cutting, no repositioning, no remap
- Washed and reused for the life of the machine, two years of warranty from the date of purchase
Two entries, and which two
Both lines this number covers are 1100 machines: the Factory listed under the model year 2020, and the RSV4/Factory listed under the model years 2021 to 2026. The earlier litre bikes that share the housing are absent from the list. If a registration document names one of those instead, the media choice for that airbox is shorter than this page implies, and the standard weave or the racing one is where it ends. Fitment lists are published line by line, so read the line rather than the model.
A dust medium on a superbike
It reads oddly until you think about where such a machine spends its year — under a cover, on a trailer, on roads swept in June and gritted in February. Dust is not only a desert phenomenon; it is also what a stored, seasonally used bike draws in the moment it is started again. That is the case for the finer element here, and it is an argument about conditions rather than ambition. It is certainly not an argument about power: an element seated in an unmodified airbox leaves a homologated 1100 producing what it always produced.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air does the routine work on PM147P14. Direct it at the clean face and drive the dust outward, along the path it took getting in, moving across the whole mat rather than working one patch of it. When a hard season leaves more than air will remove, lukewarm water with a little mild detergent takes the rest, and the element should be rinsed until the water runs through it clean. Drying is unhurried and cool: room air only, never a radiator, a hot-air gun or a flame, because heat ruins polyester. It returns to the airbox dry and untreated. The maintenance sheet sits in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Specified for the airbox of the Aprilia RSV4 Factory listed under the model year 2020. Two Aprilia entries carry PM147P14 in total, both of them 1100 machines: this one, and the RSV4/Factory listed under the model years 2021 to 2026. Each appears with its model years in the Fitment tab.
