The 368G is the only one of these five machines for which Sprint Filter also catalogues the T12, a material rated 7 µm and 560 l/m²/sec. This one is rated 85 µm and 15,000. Same airbox, same motorcycle, two options something like twenty-seven times apart on the flow scale and at opposite ends of the filtration scale. They cannot both be right for the same rider, and noticing that is the useful part: a medium is a statement about the next hour of riding, not about the machine it bolts into.

Both ends of one range, offered to one bike

The range is a single trade run in both directions. Tighter cloth stops more and passes less; more open cloth passes more and stops less. The T12 sits at the protective extreme, for air carrying sand and mineral dust in quantity. This weave sits at the other, for engines held wide open long enough that intake restriction becomes the thing in the way. The 368G is listed for both because the box accepts either, not because the machine lives in both worlds. Nothing about a motorcycle can be inferred from a catalogue offering it a choice.

What that means for choosing

The honest order is to describe the riding first and read the table second. Hours on unmade surfaces point down the range, towards finer material and lower flow. Sessions at sustained maximum revs point up it, towards this one. Ordinary road use points at neither extreme, and the 80 µm weave for the same box is what suits a machine doing a bit of everything, for a great deal less. None of the three adds power to a standard 368G either. An element inside an untouched airbox has no mechanism for that; what it changes is how much restriction the intake carries, and how reliably that figure can be restored.

Care and cleaning

Dust comes out under compressed air worked from the clean face towards the dirty one, which is the reverse of the direction it went in. Anything oily or tacky is a job for lukewarm water with mild detergent; rinse it through until the water leaves clear. Afterwards it dries in circulating air at room temperature only — heat, whether from a gun, a radiator or a flame, destroys the material without leaving a mark you can see — and the SM295S F1-85 goes back in completely dry.
