Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – BMW F 800 GS Adventure (2012–2018) PM35S

The Adventure suffix bought a bigger tank, a taller screen, wider bars and more metal around the outside of the motorcycle. What it did not alter is anything the engine breathes through: the airbox of the F 800 GS Adventure is the airbox of the F 800 GS, and both take the same panel. Worth knowing, because that suffix tends to be read as a capability rating, and the intake never received one. The PM35S is what goes into it.

One housing, one medium

Sprint Filter make several fabrics — a fine non-woven for dust, a water-repellent weave for foul weather, a racing cloth for the track — but they are not all produced for every airbox, and for this one our catalogue holds a single entry. This is it. There is no finer material to move up to here and no coarser one to buy flow from, which makes the decision short and sets a limit worth stating plainly: where the ground is genuinely dusty, the remedy on this machine is a shorter interval between cleanings, not a different part number.

What the box is actually asked for

Extra range means longer days and, often enough, the kind of surface a large tank gets carried across. An element loads according to the air that has passed through it rather than the distance on the clock, so one week of dry gravel can do what a winter of commuting will not. This one meets it with area: close to twice the filtering cloth of other performance elements inside the standard frame, and an air line to bring it back where it started. Faster it does not make the bike; nothing inside the series box does.

Care and cleaning

Air first, from the clean face outward, and on a machine used off tarmac that is worth doing more often than the service book asks. When more than dust has collected, lukewarm water and a mild detergent will lift the remainder; rinse until the water stays clear. Then the step that costs elements when rushed: drying, in air only, however long it takes, well away from radiators and flame, and never refitted damp. The care sheet is filed under Downloads.

Fitment & Compatibility

Specified for the BMW F 800 GS Adventure built between 2012 and 2018, sitting in the series airbox with nothing modified around it. Ten machines from BMW and Husqvarna share the part number. One line needs care: the plain F 800 GS named there is the 2007 to 2018 model, while the bike sold under that name from 2023 uses a different airbox altogether. Years are listed under the Fitment tab.
