DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered specifically for the Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ27, the K-Tech DDS Lite shock absorber delivers a genuinely road-and-track-capable suspension upgrade with a clear safety advantage: every unit is built on the same precision-engineered platform as the DDS Pro, manufactured to exacting tolerances and validated for high-performance use. For riders who demand confidence at every corner exit — on a Sunday trackday or a twisting B-road — this is the unit that delivers measurable control without compromise.
Key Features
- 4-way adjustability for comprehensive chassis tuning across road and circuit conditions
- 32-click compression damping adjustment for precise response tuning to suit rider weight, style and surface
- 32-click rebound damping adjustment for maximum control over suspension recovery
- Manual spring preload adjustment for flexible setup without tools
- Length adjustment to fine-tune ride height and steering geometry
- CNC-machined components throughout for exceptional rigidity and long service life
- DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points for data-logging capability
- Upgradeable from Lite to full Pro specification at any authorised K-Tech service centre
Built on Pro-Grade Foundations
The DDS Lite shares its core architecture with the flagship DDS Pro unit. The distinction lies in two features absent from the Lite variant: the hydraulic spring preload adjuster and the dedicated bypass valve. Every other element — the 35 mm RCU body, the 12 mm shaft, the DDS damping circuit and the CNC-machined hardware — is drawn directly from K-Tech's race-proven catalogue. The result is a shock absorber that performs well above its price point and can be upgraded to Pro specification at any time, protecting your investment as your riding evolves.
Chassis Geometry and Setup
With a 295 mm eye-to-eye length, 60 mm of stroke and a -0/+6 mm SKU tolerance, the DDS Lite integrates cleanly into the RJ27 chassis without modification. The upper mount is an eye fitting (30 mm wide, 10 mm bolt diameter) and the lower mount is a fork fitting (30 mm wide, 12 mm bolt diameter), matching the factory attachment points precisely. K-Tech recommends a starting baseline of 12 compression clicks, 16 rebound clicks and 11 mm of spring preload — a tried-and-tested street and circuit starting point from which you can refine to suit your specific requirements. RCU adjustment travel is 4 mm. A wide range of spring rates in the 55-155 series is available to match rider weight and intended use.
Fitment and Compatibility
Designed and manufactured exclusively for the Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ27 covering model years 2017 through to 2026. No modification to the subframe or linkage is required for a direct-fit installation.
For maximum safety and optimum performance, K-Tech strongly recommends installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre. Correct fitment requires specialist tools and techniques; incorrect installation may compromise handling and rider safety.
