A Single Season
MV launched the Stradale in 2015 with panniers, a taller screen, a centre stand and softer suspension than the Rivale it was based on, and withdrew it almost immediately during a range rationalisation. Very few exist.
The Idea Was Sound
A three-cylinder Italian sport tourer with genuine luggage capacity, aimed at riders who wanted an MV that could cross a country. What defeated it was competing against machines with deeper dealer networks and considerably more development behind them.
Parts Are the Problem
Tiny production and no successor mean the supply of Stradale-specific components was never deep and has not improved. Anything that fits correctly rather than being adapted is worth noting when it becomes available.
Hours on the Controls
A touring motorcycle's throttle assembly accumulates operating hours faster than a sports bike's. The bore is worked continuously across long days, and a cast one loses its precision sooner than a machined one does.
Both Functions Renewed
The right-hand switches sit inside the housing, so replacement covers both. This unit is a single machined body using MV's own connector, with no wiring modification and nothing to code afterwards.
Sealed Inside
Sealed switch elements in a body with no moulded joint. A bike bought to be ridden in whatever weather arrives needs the contacts protected rather than merely covered.
Luggage and a Centre Stand
The Stradale was specified for distance: panniers, a taller screen, a centre stand and softer damping than the Rivale. That use pattern puts more hours through the throttle assembly than any sports MV accumulates, which is precisely why the bore matters.
