The Naked Panigale V2
Ducati stripped the V2's bodywork, fitted a wide handlebar and retuned the 955 cc Superquadro to 153 hp. It is far easier to live with than the V4 version and nearly as entertaining.
Single-Sided Swingarm
The V2 keeps the single-sided arm that gives Ducati nakeds much of their visual identity. On a bike with no bodywork to hide behind, that detail carries more weight than it would elsewhere.
A Twin That Revs
The Superquadro's extreme bore-to-stroke ratio gives it a top end no conventional V-twin reaches. It behaves like a small four in the last two thousand revs and like a Ducati everywhere else.
Housing Only
The switch block stays where it is. This part addresses the throttle assembly alone, which is the right choice when the electrics are sound and the plastic is what grates.
Where the Tube Turns
Machined rather than moulded, so the bore holds its dimension and the grip keeps its feel. Ride-by-wire means that consistency reaches the engine directly.
Black Anodised
Converted into the metal. On a naked bike the cockpit is on display to everyone rather than only to the rider, which makes a restrained finish the safer decision.
Ergal 7075
An aerospace grade at roughly double the strength of ordinary machined aluminium. It does not deform in a low-speed drop, which on a naked motorcycle is a realistic scenario.
Rain at the Bar
Nothing on a Streetfighter deflects weather away from the controls. A body cut from one block has no clipped joint for water or grit to work past.
